À propos de Katerina

Les mots de Katerina.

You might look, from the outside, like someone who has it together. Capable, successful, resilient in all the ways the world can see. But inside, you are overwhelmed, anxious, or running on empty, and that gap between how you appear and how you actually feel is exhausting to carry alone.

I work with high-achieving professionals, newcomers, and adults navigating major life transitions, people dealing with perfectionism, burnout, self-criticism, imposter syndrome, relationship strain, disordered eating, panic attacks, and the disorienting work of rebuilding identity in the middle of change. I also support parents navigating separation and the emotional weight that comes with it. I speak English and Russian, and I have a particular connection to the experience of immigration and cultural transition, having lived in several countries and made that journey myself.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent nearly twenty years in corporate environments. I know from the inside what happens when achievement becomes the measure of your worth, and that experience shapes how I work.

In session, I offer a safe space where you don't have to perform, achieve, or arrive with the answers. I bring warm curiosity and genuine compassion, and part of our work together is helping you build new, healthier habits and patterns that actually fit your life. We work at your pace, on what's pressing now and on the deeper experiences shaping it.

If any of this sounds familiar, I would be glad to connect.

Un peu de contexte.

What is it like working with you?

Clients often describe me as warm, approachable, and easy to talk to. I balance genuine empathy with thoughtful questions that invite new perspectives, the kind that gently shift how you see a situation without feeling like a confrontation. My goal is for you to feel truly understood, and also to be nudged, at your own pace, toward the growth you came here for.

What do you like most about being a therapist?

What stays with me is watching people reconnect with their own strength and begin to see possibilities that felt out of reach before. There is something deeply meaningful about walking alongside someone through a difficult chapter and witnessing the moment they find greater confidence, self-understanding, and a genuine sense of hope. That is the part of this work I never take for granted.

How do you take care of your own mental health?

I take care of my own mental health through meaningful relationships, creativity, and ongoing self-reflection. I have my own therapist, which I think of as an essential part of the work, not an optional one. I find a lot of restoration in music, art, travel, and time in nature, and I am happiest when I am on a bike or out on a long hike. I also believe that therapists grow through supervision and continued learning, so that stays a constant part of my practice too.

What would you say to someone nervous about starting therapy?

Feeling nervous is completely normal, and you don't need to arrive with the right words or have everything figured out. Therapy is simply a conversation, a place where we begin exploring what matters most to you, at a pace that feels comfortable. The first session is just that, a beginning, and there is no pressure to go anywhere you are not ready to go.

What drew you to this field?

My path to therapy came after many years in the corporate world, shaped by my own experiences and by countless conversations with people navigating stress, identity, and change. I became deeply curious about how people cope, and more importantly, how they grow. I wanted to do work that helped people move beyond just getting through it, toward something more meaningful and fulfilling.
