À propos de Nicole

Les mots de Nicole.

I most often work with children, young adults, adults, and families who are navigating anxiety, emotional regulation, low self-esteem, or the particular experiences that can come with being neurodivergent. What they're usually carrying is a sense of feeling overwhelmed or stuck, whether that's in a relationship, a life transition, or just in how they see themselves.

What drew me to this work was a genuine curiosity about people and a desire to create the kind of space where someone feels safe enough to be themselves. My own life experiences taught me how important emotional support can be during difficult times, and those experiences ultimately led me to counselling. Working with children, neurodivergent individuals, and families over the years has only deepened that passion.

Being in session with me feels warm and collaborative, without judgment and without pressure to have everything figured out. I balance empathy with practical guidance, so the tools we build together feel realistic in your everyday life, and we move at a pace that feels safe and manageable.

Before you even book that first session, I want you to know you don't have to face life's challenges alone. You'll be met with warmth, curiosity, and compassion, and I hope you leave feeling truly heard, a little more like yourself, and a little more hopeful.

Un peu de contexte.

What is it like working with you?

Working with me is collaborative, supportive, and shaped around your unique needs. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you with curiosity, compassion, and respect as we explore what matters most to you. I try to create a space where you feel safe to be yourself, where you can slow down and reflect without fear of judgment. Together we build on your strengths, develop practical tools, and work toward goals that feel meaningful and achievable, moving at a pace that feels right for you while celebrating progress along the way.

What do you like most about being a therapist?

What I enjoy most about being a therapist is walking alongside people as they discover their own strengths and create meaningful change in their lives. There is something incredibly rewarding about seeing a client gain confidence, overcome challenges they once thought were impossible, or begin to see themselves with greater compassion. I also value the relationships that develop through therapy, and being trusted with someone's story is a privilege I don't take lightly. Knowing that I can help someone feel less alone and more empowered to move forward is what continues to inspire me every day.

How do you take care of your own mental health?

Taking care of my own mental health is part of being the best therapist I can be, and showing up for others starts with showing up for myself. I make time to reflect and maintain perspective, and I practice self-compassion by reminding myself that I don't have to do everything perfectly and that my worth isn't measured by how much I accomplish in a day. Creating healthy boundaries, staying connected to the people who matter to me, and taking time to recharge all help me remain present, grounded, and fully available for my clients.

What would you say to someone nervous about starting therapy?

If you're feeling nervous about starting therapy, you're not alone. Taking that first step can feel vulnerable, especially if you've never spoken to someone about what you're going through, so please know that you don't need to have everything figured out or know exactly what to say before you walk into a session. My role isn't to judge you or tell you what to do: it's to get to know you, understand your experiences, and support you in a way that feels right for you. We'll move at a pace that feels comfortable, and there's never any pressure to share more than you're ready to. Therapy is a collaborative process, and my hope is that over time it becomes a space where you feel safe, understood, and empowered to grow.

What drew you to this field?

I was drawn to counselling because I've always been curious about people's stories and what shapes who they are. I find it meaningful to understand how our experiences, relationships, and challenges influence the way we think, feel, and move through the world, and my own life experiences deepened my appreciation for having support during difficult times. As I've worked with children, families, and neurodivergent individuals over the years, my passion for this work has only grown, and seeing people discover their strengths and build confidence continues to remind me why I chose this profession.
